About Me

Selena Cartwright is the Founder, Legal Practitioner Director/Principal Mediator/ FRDP and Arbitrator at Fairways Legal, Mediation, FDR and ADR Services.

I have been working in the legal industry and in dispute resolution for two decades, specialising in helping separating and conflicted families transition from the past to a better tomorrow by affordably resolve their parenting and property disputes with respect, dignity and certainty.

During that time, I have gained a wealth of legal experience and has not only represented and advocated for hundreds of clients across many complex and delicate family law related matters (both on a domestic and international level) but I have successfully helped clients resolve their conflict and move forward with their lives through my ADR work which has included working at a Family Relationships Centre as a FDRP.

My business acumen and dedication to the legal profession has not only earned seen me receive an Australian of the Year nomination but I have been featured in management Publications such as Management Today and Australasian Law Management Journal and have also been named:-
• Business Owner of the Year in the Telstra Women in Business Awards,
• Australian Institute of Managements Rural/Remote Manager of the Year; and
• Gympie’s Business Woman of Excellence.

I posses a dual degree of a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (majoring in sociology), Mediation qualifications including a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution Practice from Bond University. I also holds qualifications as a Family Law Arbitrator. I am a Nationally Accredited Mediator with the Queensland Law Society. I am also a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General’s Department and am able to issue Section 60I Certificates in respect of family dispute resolutions. I am presently on Legal Aid Queensland’s Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners panel of mediators and regularly mediates disputes for them.
